Prof. Dr. Thirumalaisamy P. Velavan is a faculty and group leader at the Institute for Tropical Medicine at University of Tuebingen, Germany and leads distinct projects on molecular genetics of host-pathogen interactions, clinical trials, epidemiology, antimicrobial resistance and diagnostics. He has published more than 125 articles in peer-reviewed journals, with a cumulative impact factor of >500, with a h-index of 27. He is an associate editor in BMC Medical Genetics and Tropical Medicine and International health, and an editorial board member in Nature Scientific Reports. He also serves the review boards of international funding agencies in EU and worldwide.
Prof. Velavan is contributing to PANDORA specific work packages related to antimicrobial resistance, diagnostics, and in understanding SARS-Cov-2 viral dynamics.
